Beschreibung
This Czech-language practical guide presents the foundations of mental literacy for the general public. It is built around five key skills that develop self-regulation: four relate to levels of human experience—the body, emotions, mind and spirit—while the fifth focuses on human experience in the world and life as a constant process of change. Together, these keys offer an inner compass for navigating life safely, living in harmony with yourself and accepting life with all its joys and difficulties. The clearly structured book provides a practical protocol for practising each skill until it becomes a habit, followed by techniques for personal development that strengthen these essential abilities. Alongside its practical approach, the book takes a deeply human perspective, encouraging readers to draw on their own resources and reminding them of what makes us human: the ability to experience, feel and search for meaning. Its comprehensive concept is based on a biopsychosocial-spiritual model of the person. The author draws on current approaches in somatically oriented psychology and neuroscience, including the compassionate approach of Gabor Maté, Peter Levine’s work with trauma and Stephen Porges’s polyvagal theory. The self-regulation tools are based on developing mindfulness, making the entire concept mindfulness-based. The final section shows how personal change also has a social dimension and can influence families, friends, colleagues and wider communities.
