The monograph aims to inform the professional public about the latest theoretical and clinical findings in the rapidly developing field of clinical oncology. In the new edition, the preclinical part of the book has been revised and expanded – it covers all areas of molecular oncology that are necessary for a deeper understanding of the causes of tumor formation, spread, and their response to anti-tumor treatment. Separate chapters are dedicated to tissue homeostasis and its disorders in tumorigenesis, mechanisms of carcinogenesis, disorders of intracellular signaling, disorders of the tumor microenvironment, the process of angiogenesis, and metastasis. The book also responds to advances in the field of tumor immunotherapy. The theoretical part of the book further includes significant pharmacological chapters that familiarize the reader with the issues of eliminating anti-tumor drugs and the importance of drug interactions as well as the methodology of clinical studies.
