Legendární Škoda 105/120 a její sourozenci – Tuček Jan (2022)

The book is dedicated to the last generation of Škoda cars with a rear engine, the Š 105/120/130 model series, whose production from 1976 to 1990 exceeded two million vehicles. It recalls four-door sedans and two-door coupes Garde and Rapid, as well as a colorful array of now almost forgotten variants and prototypes. The Škoda 105/120 cars were a common sight on our streets and roads in the late seventies and throughout the eighties. They had an outdated design with a rear engine, their sound was unmistakable, and their quality somewhat lagged behind the European average. But they were here and lived among us. While they were sold for unreasonably low prices in the West, we earned money on them for years in our homeland. And for the most part, they served their owners for many long years. They survived the operations of November 1989, but the drastic change in circumstances quickly sent them into retirement, especially in Prague and large cities. Many, however, simply changed their location, replacing even older 'embéčka' and 'hundreds' in the countryside and started a new life. The last rear-engine Škodas have practically disappeared from the roads, with only the luckiest transitioning into the category of collector's items. Let us cherish them and not forget that they wrote a significant chapter...
