Kamila always believed that the universe was on her side – just as her father used to tell her. But then her father died, her mother closed herself off, and her best friend replaced her with a popular school clique. Kamila finds refuge in the local library, where she often meets the school outsider Joe. After a strange storm traps them in a narrow alley, the girl finds an abandoned kitten. Albert, as she names him, is peculiar – too strong for his tiny body. When a burned symbol appears on her closet door, Kamila and Joe discover that it is a map. However, the map leads to a greater mystery than they could have imagined. Albert may not just be an ordinary kitten, but the key to something much bigger.
