A heavy rain falls on Denton, washing away the body of a young girl. Detective Josie Quinn and her team have no crime scene to begin their investigation. Fortunately, the victim's body is well-preserved, including a baseball patch on the jacket she is wearing. Josie cannot hide her shock – her deceased ex-husband Ray owned exactly such a jacket. When Josie retraces her steps back to the time when she was in high school, she identifies the girl as Beverly Urban, a troubled student rumored to have had an affair with Ray. However, one year during the holidays, she and her mother moved away. Or at least that's what everyone in Denton thought... The search through memories of her own past with Ray is the only advantage Josie has over the twisted murderer who wants to keep hiding his secrets. Even at the cost of more lives...
