Detective Erika Foster finds herself at a crime scene during an evening walk around her new home in Blackheath. The brutally murdered woman is Vicky Clarke, who had her own true crime podcast. After Erika joins the investigation into the case, she discovers that Vicky was working on a new episode of her podcast about a sexual predator who preys on young students in South London, watching them for a long time before breaking into their homes in the dead of night. Once Erika learns that all of Vicky's notes and audio recordings from her apartment disappeared at the time of her murder, it becomes clear to her that Vicky was just a step away from uncovering the attacker who killed her to avoid being exposed and caught. Then comes a shock, and Erika must reassess everything she thought and knew about Vicky up to that point. With a limited amount of clues and almost no evidence, she must find the murderer before they strike again.
