Antonia has a dream of one day conducting an internationally renowned orchestra. The problem is that she is a woman, and it is the year 1926. Girls are expected to marry and have children, not to attend conservatory. However, she is firmly determined to pursue her goal. She studies piano and plays at a jazz club at night. At a concert, she meets manager Frank, a young man from a wealthy family with many contacts among musicians. Although they come from different social classes, it seems that their love can overcome everything. When Antonia finally gets the chance to study conducting, she faces an impossible choice – should she listen to her heart or pursue a possibly unattainable dream?
