Will the little female dog find the courage to trust humans again?
Millie is a spirited border terrier who has learned to survive on the streets – searching for food, avoiding people, and defending herself with barking and growling. In reality, she is not mean – just scared. After an encounter with the animal control service, she ends up in a shelter, from where she is rescued by Mrs. Berry, a teacher who helps troubled children and dogs find balance and peace at school.
The dog is taken in by Tori, a quiet and withdrawn girl who knows well what it is like to have turbulent emotions. After leaving her mother, she lives with her grandfather and is learning to trust people again. She starts training Millie, and a strong bond develops between them. But the path to trust is not easy. When the situation complicates, Millie runs away again. Will the little dog manage to overcome her fear, or will she return to the streets?
