Beschreibung
All living organisms have a genetically encoded need to live and survive. For humans, the desire for free development and self-realization is amplified by the ability to adapt to changing conditions, and even to change them in the form of innovations, actively participating in the cultivation of life. Being human is not a fact, according to Austrian psychiatrist Viktor Frankl, but a possibility. We have many doers, but few creators. A doer does what they are told without thinking about the meaning of the assigned task, mechanically relying on given standards, categories, and standardized procedures. A creator is not satisfied with what is; they seek and find new solutions for doing things better and more successfully. Through motivation, critical thinking, and creativity, they create values. The bonus is self-realization from meaningful activity. The key to our application is understanding Comenius's triad of 'wanting, knowing how, and being able to.' This book is based on that. It is not enough to 'know how' if we lack the will to act. It is not enough to 'be able' if a spectrum of options opens up that we do not want. The value of the mentioned triad lies in the interplay of its elements to achieve synergistic effects. It leads us to what makes a person a person – to reach self-realization through self-discovery, self-assessment, and self-development.
