The book comprehensively describes the entire vaccination process, from the history of childhood vaccination, through the development and types of vaccines, to the vaccination calendar, specific indication groups for childhood vaccination, individual schemes, and legal aspects of vaccination. Vaccination is a process that begins in childhood and continues into senior age. Along with water disinfection, modern medicine knows nothing more effective in preventing infectious diseases. Vaccination is, however, a relatively young method. Vaccination was only detailed and developed in the 18th century. Logically, vaccination begins with the most vulnerable, namely small children. New vaccines are being discovered and developed for them, vaccination schemes are being adjusted, and the number of diseases against which one can be vaccinated is expanding. It has been shown that particularly among children, there are vulnerable groups of individuals with compromised immunity and limitations of the immune system. Susceptibility to infectious diseases in childhood is influenced not only by chronic diseases, congenital developmental defects, but also by transplants, greater availability of oncological treatment, and weakened immune systems.
