The presented publication represents the foundation of entrepreneurship based on entrepreneurial discovery, assessment, and utilization of business opportunities. In the theoretical part, we address the market process and competition, analyzing the relationship between entrepreneurship and business theory. We place primary emphasis on entrepreneurial opportunities and the cognitive and individual characteristics of entrepreneurship. The application part presents a model of the entrepreneurial process composed of fifteen steps, which can be considered a certain guide for new entrepreneurs. The publication will be welcomed especially by entrepreneurs in all fields of business, particularly by those just starting out. Useful insights can also be found by students and lecturers.
