Inclusion is a topic that resonates not only among educational professionals and practitioners in the school system, but due to relatively intense media coverage (both positive and negative), the majority of the public has undoubtedly encountered this issue. The inclusive approach in education has already been described in several Czech publications, but not in a sufficiently clear, comprehensive, and coherent manner. As a result, there is considerable confusion among experts regarding the understanding and especially the application of this approach in both school and extracurricular education, as well as in the broader sense of inclusion as a social concept. The relationship between inclusive pedagogy (as a newly forming educational discipline) and special pedagogy (as a firmly established field with a long tradition in Czech education and other areas related to the lives of people with disabilities or disadvantages, including children, pupils, and students with special educational needs) remains completely unclear.
