"When you're not a commonly living animal and you're not an extinct creature, then what exactly are you?" Mari Jones is only eleven, but she desperately wants to become a scientist. Her mother would like her to be a veterinarian, but the only animals that interest Mari are the fossilized ones. And while searching for fossils, Mari finds a small dragon and knows that it is the greatest discovery of her life. It could change all of science! She decides to study the little creature thoroughly before showing it to the world. Unfortunately for Mari, her winged secret does not intend to stay hidden.
