Anti-obesity drugs, medications for the treatment of serious conditions like obesity, have a long history. Many of them have been withdrawn due to serious side effects. The products used today are very effective, but administration must be long-term. This monograph is the first in a new book series on Pharmacotherapy for Clinical Practice, which will be professionally guaranteed by Professor Svačina, the chairman of the Czech Medical Society JEP. The book provides a detailed overview of indications, contraindications, side effects, dosing, and interactions of anti-obesity drugs. It thoroughly discusses the administration of anti-obesity drugs in the context of comorbidities – diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, and other diseases.
