The book provides comprehensively processed information on the physiology of both the female and male reproductive systems, which is significant for understanding the development of germ cells, the process of fertilization, and early embryonic development, with an emphasis on the environment in which this development occurs. In the first chapters, the book addresses general principles of reproductive physiology, new findings from the cyto-physiology of reproductive system cells, principles of hormonal regulation of reproductive functions, briefly recaps important facts about the development of reproductive cells, characterizes the environment in which sperm development occurs, and describes this development. It also discusses the function of accessory sex glands and the significance of their secretion for sperm function. Attention is also focused on the mechanisms of erection and ejaculation.
