Syndromy ve vnitřním lékařství od A do Z – Polák Martin (2022)

Internal medicine is the queen of medicine. Currently, in a broader sense, it includes subspecialties such as cardiology, pulmonology, endocrinology, angiography, hematology, and so on. It is therefore a very extensive field. This corresponds to a large number of nosological units and a significant number of eponyms – terms used in medicine that are named after doctors (sometimes places and things). New discoveries are often traditionally named after their discoverers. The publication is conceived as a guide to these syndromes. In Czech literature, there are similar older pieces of information, but the presented publication is more detailed and includes both new and older or forgotten units. Individual nosological units are briefly described, including the origin of the unit, basic information about the author, and characteristics of the syndrome. At the end of each unit, a basic literary source is provided where the reader can find more detailed information. The book is supplemented with a detailed index, both alphabetical and thematic. It is intended for all medical students, doctors, and nurses who want to quickly obtain information about the mentioned symptom or syndrome without having to search through extensive professional literature or the internet.
