Originally a textbook for two carpentry trades, furniture making and construction carpentry now brings closer the methods of old masters and builders. The construction of furniture and construction carpentry is being reprinted in a new edition after more than seventy years. Both parts of the book consist of illustrated panels that depict technological processes and construction details. We present the text in the same form it had at the time of the editions from which we drew. It is therefore obvious that some of the information provided here is no longer valid and that some methods have been abandoned in this field. You have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the technologies that carpenters worked with in the 1950s. We have also preserved the spelling according to the original, so outdated terms or previously used spellings of certain words remain here. We believe that this does not detract from the book but rather brings the reader closer to the time in which these publications were created and enriches their knowledge.
