Žlutý baron - Skutečný plán Andreje Babiše: Zřídit stát jako firmu – Vlasatá Zuzana (2017)

The book Yellow Baron tells the story of two journalists from Deník Referendum, Zuzana Vlasatá and Jakub Patočka, searching for answers to the question of what Andrej Babiš's true intentions in politics are. They took his political slogans seriously and began to measure them against reality. The slogan 'Managing the state like a business' led them to Babiš's companies: Agra Jevišovice, Kostelecké uzeniny, the agricultural enterprise in Hustopeče, and Vodňany, where the famous poultry farm stands. Their reports show that Andrej Babiš does not profit from exemplary management of his companies. They began to investigate what truly brings him profit. This led them to the question of why the entire country turns yellow every spring due to a flood of rapeseed fields. The authors demonstrate that the reasons for Babiš's involvement in politics are definitely different and much more down-to-earth than he describes in interviews for his newspapers Mladá fronta Dnes and Lidové noviny. The book is a collection of engaging reports and analyses that everyone should familiarize themselves with, regardless of their opinion about the Czechoslovak 'super-oligarch.' It tells not only about Babiš and his business but also about fear: a number of characters in the book are not named at their own request. What are people afraid of today and why?
