Kuba a bubáci – Drobný Libor (2025)

Strange things keep happening around ten-year-old Kuba: he cannot sleep at night, his belongings, friends and even his father mysteriously disappear, and a garden gnome causes trouble instead of a mole. Kuba knows what to do, however, because his grandfather has given him a book with the mysterious title B. and F. (Boogeymen and Phantoms), which suddenly makes everything start to make sense. At first Kuba is a little afraid of the boogeymen, but he soon discovers there is nothing to fear. They only frighten those who deserve it. Join Kuba on mysterious adventures that always end with a puzzle, crossword or brainteaser. In an accessible way, the book teaches children how to behave properly, such as putting their things away, not sticking chewing gum under desks and not littering in the forest. The book is in Czech and also includes a lexicon of monsters and boogeymen, along with solutions to all the mysteries. Kuba and his boogeymen are known from the magazine Mateřídouška; here, each story is expanded with additional tasks, puzzles and entries in the boogeymen lexicon.
