Various approaches within each direction are discussed, along with research on effectiveness, critiques from the perspective of other approaches, and a hypothetical case study of patient C treated through the lens of this approach. The book analyzes 15 leading psychotherapeutic approaches and provides a brief overview of another 32 schools. The authors conclude that different perspectives agree on the processes that induce change but differ in their views on what needs to be changed.
