Beschreibung
It has been proven that even small regular positive experiences lead to improved health, deeper friendships, and a longer life. Joy acts as a counterbalance to stress and alleviates anxiety and worries. In 31 chapters of the book, we find attitudes and activities aimed at balance, calmness, gratitude, and a generally more positive approach to life. Where can happiness be sought and found: Can it even be learned? How can we reframe everyday experiences to turn them into sources of happiness? The text offers a multitude of activities leading to happiness, such as forming less deep relationships in everyday life, mindfulness, constant curiosity, giving and contributing, gratitude, acceptance, achieving a state of flow, and of course, spending time in nature, creating a 'mental album of happy memories,' variation, playfulness, and a humble approach to life. Ragnhild Bang Nes teaches psychology at the University of Oslo. She also works at the Norwegian Institute for Public Health, where she has been researching happiness for nearly 20 years.
