Beschreibung
Children's drawings have their place in the psychological examination of a child. They reveal the child's inner world, imagination, and creativity. They are also used during psychotherapy; they disclose the child's developmental stage in relation to the average (advanced or delayed development). The author, a clinical psychologist, draws on his clinical psychological practice with children and adolescents in his book. He first addresses so-called free drawings, showing expressions of anxiety, traumatic episodes, and sexual violence in children's drawings. He further compares free drawings with the test criteria of the TAT and presents model records of procedures during interviews with individual children, analyzes images, and creates analytical tables of graphic procedures in drawing. In the conclusion, thematic drawings (human figures, drawings of families, trees, etc.) that the author uses in his practice are analyzed, for which he proposes interpretative procedures. The book will be beneficial for child psychologists and therapists, psychology students, and parents.
