Beschreibung
Norwegian Franciscan Ole Martin decided to leave the monastery and spend fifty days spread over three years as a homeless person on the streets of Oslo and Copenhagen. His experiences provide a glimpse into life on the fringes of society that an ordinary person can hardly imagine, prompting reflections on homelessness from an unusual perspective. Ole traverses the urban landscape, observing the harsh lives of people at the bottom of society with humor and compassion. He focuses on detail, with episodes unfolding before the reader like a film. He contemplates humiliation, the revival of love for simple things like a tree, unexpected human kindness, but also the constant necessity of relating to death, seeking God in drugs, the nature of conflicts with representatives of 'decent' society, the issue of identity loss, and dependence on society.
