Beschreibung
The work from the twilight of the author's career belongs to the books in which the author recapitulates and summarizes. It allows him to conclude his lifelong views. In many places, he repeats what he has previously written, and at the same time, it seems he tries to gather as many definitions as possible of what he is examining. Concepts such as 'inferiority complex', 'desire for power', 'birth order among siblings', 'sense of belonging', or 'spoiling' are certainly not overlooked. The titular concept, 'meaning of life', is understood by Adler in two senses: subjectively, it refers to the meaning that a person sees in their life, and objectively, it relates to the real ability to coexist with other people. According to Adler, a person who lacks this objective meaning is neurotic, psychotic, perverse, dependent, or criminal. The book from 1933 is considered Adler's last major work.
