Beschreibung
Psychoanalysis is traditionally understood as a method of treating mental disorders 'on the couch.' However, such a conception is disproportionately narrow and inaccurate. We can understand psychoanalysis more as a way of thinking, as an approach to understanding human existence, and not least, human suffering. This makes it interesting not only for those engaged in psychotherapy but also for all people interested in understanding the essence of the human psyche. The author introduces readers to one of the decisive directions of modern psychoanalysis, which is the result of the 'silent revolution' of the 1980s and 1990s. He corrects some traditional, yet often long outdated views widespread not only among the general public but also among professionals. He draws not only from the field of psychoanalysis but also uses numerous references primarily from developmental psychology and reflects the influence of cognitive psychology on contemporary psychoanalysis.
