Beschreibung
Mentoring is a method that operates on the principle of developing less experienced individuals, such as new colleagues, by experienced persons (mentors). The authors view mentoring as a path to dialogue between generations, a return to respecting authorities, knowledge, and experience while maintaining respect for the search for new, undiscovered paths. They see mentoring as a way to support members of the future generation not only in terms of their careers. They perceive the mentor as someone who opens new possibilities and perspectives, co-creating a new form of life, supporting expertise, and fostering true uniqueness. The authors strive to answer when it is appropriate to use mentoring. They define roles and responsibilities in the mentoring process, advise on selecting a suitable mentor and junior (mentee), address the ethics of this profession, describe various types of mentoring, and the individual phases of the mentoring process. They also consider the demands this work places on the mentor's personality, how to become a truly good mentor, and how to be a well-prepared junior. Readers also have the opportunity to learn about the experiences of Czech mentors from various business sectors and age groups.
