Traditional folk costumes, songs, music, and dance, along with other expressions of traditional folk culture, remain a phenomenon that survives within us, one that we consciously cultivate and can now embrace in our own way for our own joy and that of those around us. Perhaps this book will be a small, humble step towards its preservation and a vivid illustration of its form at the beginning of the 21st century! The book thus serves as a guide or accompanying material to the grandly conceived editions of the Wine Festival in Uherské Hradiště. It captures the current form of festive costumes in individual villages. It brings the exceptional diversity of Slovácko costumes closer not only to festival visitors but also to the general public, demonstrating the enduring vitality of this phenomenon. It may also be beneficial for costume tailors and seamstresses, who can perceive it as a manual, as well as for experts, as it provides interesting iconographic material documenting a certain developmental stage of traditional clothing from the Uherskohradišťsko region.
