Paris 1882. Louise Weber grows up as the daughter of a laundress in absolute poverty. However, from a young age, she is passionate about dance. She eagerly visits bars and cafés in Montmartre and, with the support of artists like Renoir and Toulouse-Lautrec, becomes a star of the Moulin Rouge. After performing in front of the Persian Shah, she suddenly becomes an internationally recognized queen of the cancan. However, she is troubled by the fear of falling back into poverty. So she risks everything: wealth, happiness - and the love of her life...
