Beschreibung
The Battle of Hastings, after which the Norman Duke William the Conqueror ascended to the English throne, brought years of turmoil to England, full of rebellions from defiant Anglo-Saxons. After Ashdyke Castle on the Welsh border was reduced to ashes, English noblewoman Christen witnessed her husband's murder and her brother's capture. To save her people and secure her brother's release, she agrees to a hasty marriage to one of the king's men, Miles le Gallois. Tensions in the country escalate, and Christen and Miles, surrounded by enemies on all sides, struggle not only for family happiness but especially for their very lives.
