FBI agent Drex Easton relentlessly pursues a single goal: tracking down a serial killer known as Weston Graham. Over the past thirty years, Weston has used numerous names and countless disguises, enabling him to rob eight wealthy women before they disappeared without a trace. Their families wait in vain for answers, while the authorities have no leads. The victims are connected only by the appearance in their lives of a new person who then vanished without a trace, leaving no evidence of ever having existed except for a signature. Drex is convinced that the women were murdered and that the sociopath known as Weston Graham is responsible. Yet every time Drex comes even slightly closer, Weston changes his identity and disappears. For the first time in their long cat-and-mouse game, however, Drex has his suspect in sight.
