Legendární Praga V3S – Frýba Jiří (2016)

In the book, you will find a detailed description of the state of motorization in Czechoslovakia after World War II, the history of the development of the Praga V3S, and a complete overview of the tactical and technical data of the vehicle. However, the core of the book is a unique and unpublished catalog of individual military applications of this vehicle, presented for the first time in this scope. The Praga V3S served in all branches of the Czechoslovak army, and the number of applications for various types of troops is indeed high, as is their variability: here you will find mobile workshops, recovery vehicles, anti-aircraft twin guns, rocket launchers, de-icing units for airfields, water treatment facilities, mine-clearing vehicles, mobile military clubs, field kitchens, or even mobile dental clinics. The applications are clearly categorized into twelve chapters, each briefly outlining its development, purpose, classification, an overview of the individual components of the set, and its crew. Everything is supplemented with numerous photographs and technical drawings, most of which are published for the very first time. In the appendices, you will find additional technical data, an overview of the military vehicle marking system, a brief discussion on the modified S5T version for road use, considerations for successors to the Praga V3S, and color photographs of preserved vehicles.
