Until this moment, Bára thought that only hobbits lived in the grassy houses. Thanks to an atlas, she discovered that Icelanders lived like that in the past as well. While a thirty-year war rages in Europe, the inhabitants of a small island off the coast of Iceland have other concerns – to catch plenty of fish and gather enough eggs from the steep cliffs of wild birds to have anything to eat at all. Both activities are a matter of life and death. Fishermen can easily be caught off guard by an unexpected storm on the open sea, and when gathering eggs, a small mistake can lead to a fall from over a hundred meters into the wild surf... However, the Icelanders consider this to be such a "daily norm." But one day, pirates appear on the horizon...
