Legends about Saint Wenceslas are known by almost every small child. And every adult knows that legends always embellish something. But still – who imagines Wenceslas as a balding forty-something who can easily keep up with his companions during drinking and combat games and isn't afraid to challenge a rival prince (whom he effortlessly defeats)? Moreover, he can read in three languages and three different scripts! He is also married and has a son. So, apart from his literacy, he's almost a normal ruler. And what about his brother Boleslav? Is he really a fratricide? The legends agree that it was not he who dealt Wenceslas the fatal blow... Fortunately, Bára happened to be there as an eyewitness, so she can bring clarity to the matter after nearly a millennium.
