Beschreibung
This time, Bára is transported by a magical atlas to the night darkness on the shore of a lake near Novgorod in the 10th century. Hidden behind a bush, she overhears two conspirators planning a premeditated and cunning murder of a certain Sigurd. Although she is a small soul, when she learns about the planned murder, she must do something! So Bára decides to warn Sigurd. By coincidence, she meets his son Hálfdan, and both manage to sneak onto the ship with which Sigurd is sailing for trade to Kyiv, where both conspirators are part of the crew. Bára faces an exciting and challenging journey with the Norsemen along the great rivers that formed the highway 'from Varangians to Greeks', that is, from Novgorod to Constantinople, and she will find out that Viking battles are far from the elegant ballet performed by three musketeers. Throughout the journey, she must keep an eye on those rascals who want to get rid of Sigurd and even Hálfdan, and she must figure out how to expose them. Moreover, she is puzzled by the question of how the men who claim to be Vikings do not have horns on their helmets. Are they really Vikings? One of Sigurd's fellow warriors will prepare a truly unexpected surprise for her at the very end of the adventure...
