The book is intended for both active athletes and trainers, coaches, instructors, and advisors in fitness and bodybuilding, to facilitate their orientation in matters related to nutrition, hydration, and supplementation in sports, especially during so-called fitness and wellness activities. The authors have attempted to explain the basic nutritional rules applicable primarily to active individuals in the simplest way possible. The text respects general nutritional recommendations, including so-called nutritional pyramids, and focuses primarily on the rules for creating a sports diet from foods commonly found in the consumer basket on the market. It recommends targeted use of dietary supplements intended for the general population as well as athletes where justified. It explains the irreplaceable role of hydration in sports and fitness, which is often underestimated. The appendix with overviews, tables, recipes, and review questions for readers will particularly help to adopt the principles of healthy nutrition leading to good physical condition, which is the main wish and goal of the authors.
