The book is divided into a general and a special part. The general part presents universally applicable rules for the operation of operating rooms and for perioperative patient care. The chapters in the special part describe the anatomy, physiology, pathology, and surgical treatment of the most common diseases and conditions in various surgical fields. For clarity and easy orientation, these chapters are uniformly structured. The textbook was created at the suggestion of perioperative nurses and students who have long lacked a suitable textbook that is not as extensive in content as those for medical faculty students but contains the necessary information to understand surgical procedures during operations.
