Legendární Škoda 1000 MB – Tuček Jan (2014)

The Škoda 1000 MB launched a new era of Czechoslovak motoring in the spring of 1964. This attractive four-meter car with a self-supporting body and a one-liter four-cylinder engine behind the rear axle became the first mass-produced Czech automobile. By the summer of 1969, a total of 443,000 "embéček" had rolled out of Mladá Boleslav, nearly half of which enriched the domestic fleet of passenger cars, while the rest was exported to dozens of countries around the world. A brief recap of the post-war predecessors of the Š 1000 MB from 1946 to 1964 allows us to place the "embéčko" in the appropriate context within the historical line of the brand. Along with the car from 1964, the then-new production plant AZNP in Mladá Boleslav, the most modern car factory behind the "Iron Curtain" at that time and one of the best of its kind in Europe, will be briefly introduced. Through a large number of unique photographs, the book presents prototypes as well as series-produced "thousand" models. The book provides quality and verified information about technical parameters, interesting facts from production, numbers of units produced and exported, as well as sporting successes.
