The textbook is primarily intended for students and teachers of secondary vocational schools focusing on social care issues. The text of the first to third volumes presents the theoretical framework of three interrelated topics: the structure and function of the organs of a healthy human organism; the relationship between health and illness with a focus on care for physical and mental health and selected diseases with social impact; the relationship between the environment and the organism with a focus on hygiene and epidemiology. The topic concludes with the basics of first aid and resuscitation. Unlike other educational texts on this subject, the topic is processed in a way that encourages students to actively engage both in teaching and in their homework. For this purpose, recommended work manuals are provided with exercises and tasks corresponding to the content of the chapters.
