Functional anatomy is conceived as a modern foundational interdisciplinary morphological text intended for a wide range of students from several faculties and other schools. The concept of functional anatomy of the human body is based on the interconnectedness of structure and function of the human body and allows for an understanding of the causality of the development, structure, and functional manifestations of organ systems right from the beginning of study. The target group of students for whom the text is intended includes students of physiotherapy, various fields of biomedical engineering, kinesiology, secondary and higher vocational health schools, and other non-medical health disciplines. The book will also be appreciated by teacher training programs combined with biomedical disciplines. The publication is suitable for teacher training programs focused on physical education, sports, and other forms of physical activities. The text is structured in such a way that it allows for the selection of knowledge intended for often very different fields of study (nanotechnology, therapeutic physical education, radiologic assistant, etc.) through the use of pictograms and other graphic elements. Over the last decade, knowledge about the structure and function of the body has grown so enormously that it was necessary to respond to it in the entire concept of the didactics of basic disciplines, and the number of fields and specializations has also expanded unprecedentedly.
