This Czech-language paperback examines the diverse punk and metal alternative music scene in Plzeň from the 1980s through the first half of the 1990s. Rather than providing a comprehensive factual account, it develops and explores selected themes, including everyday musical life, the dynamics of relationships between the scenes and political actors, and the transformation of these scenes during the first half of the 1990s. Particular attention is given to the perspectives of the people involved. The book draws on oral-history research conducted with musicians, fans and occasional concert organisers, as well as archival sources and contemporary press coverage. It discusses groups and figures including Znouzectnost, Požár mlýna, Bradavice and Petr Mach. The contents are in Czech.
