Beschreibung
The authors map the changes in the gender culture of Czech society between 1948 and 1989. They show that both emancipatory and traditionalist tendencies were always present in this process. The book also examines how a wide range of actors, including organizations, professional communities and individuals, helped shape the gender culture of state socialism throughout the period, despite Communist ideologues having appropriated the agenda of the Czech pre-war women’s movement. The book is in Czech.
