The book brings new insights into the ideological environment and national practices of the German minority in interwar Czechoslovakia, using the example of "work services" as a globally widespread means of addressing youth unemployment during economic crises. It allows for a better understanding of the actions and behavioral stereotypes of that part of the German minority that defined itself nationally and which became more frequent in the 1930s. The work approaches, based on the analysis of the social phenomenon also referred to as work service, the gradual accreditation and implementation of manifestations of authoritative thinking derived from domestic sources adapted to the forms of Reich national socialism in urban and rural conditions at the end of the republic's existence. It offers new insights into the development of the German minority in the context of developments in Germany, which during the observed period was coming under increasing pressure from national socialism. The publication is primarily based on research of various primary sources and is intended to provide a broader professional and lay audience with a perspective on a historical phenomenon that has so far been overlooked in Czech historiography, which by its nature contributed to the escalating national situation in the interwar period...
