Zdeněk Němeček is one of the unique personalities not only of his generation. His persistent interest in sports is almost unmatched, and the number of his projects is equally impressive. He received commissions for sculptural decorations of sports stadiums around the world, often unveiled before major sporting events like the Olympic Games (Mexico City, Munich, Sapporo, Milan, Moscow, Tallinn, Sarajevo…). His sculptures can also be seen in front of the hockey arena in Holešovice or the basketball arena in Folimanka.
