At a time when most people are sleeping off their hangovers from New Year's celebrations, two young students report the discovery of an ice princess. Although the operator considers their phone call to be a tasteless New Year's joke, diligent Captain René Kašmír from the Jindřichův Hradec police department immediately heads to the crime scene. The dead woman does indeed resemble an ice princess, but that is the only clue they have. It is unclear who the woman is, what the cause of death is, how she ended up on an island in the middle of a frozen pond, and why she is naked. Captain Kašmír has the difficult task of finding the murderer before the town descends into panic. And he must also get along with his new colleague Magda Lišková, who has a completely different personality and was late on her very first day at the new job.
