Sixteen-year-old Charlie has problems. He lives in York, the spookiest city in England, and all his friends are ghosts. His sisters have painted his dentures, and the object of his romantic interest is dating someone new. Moreover, famous ghosts are mysteriously disappearing from the streets of York. Charlie is determined not to get involved, but Sam, an annoying boy who also sees the dead, expects him to find out who – or what – is responsible. However, when a ghost that Charlie owes a debt to also vanishes, he has no choice but to face reality, as well as the feelings he is starting to have for Sam. The boys must join forces and prepare for the worst, as their adversary will stop at nothing. The stakes are afterlife lives, and Charlie is running out of time... Recommended age 13+.
