Although she can barely recognize the Prime Minister at first and has no interest in politics, she gradually begins to understand not only its world but especially its backstage. This is significantly aided by cynical tabloid journalist Ivan Krčka, and they gradually form a silent alliance that benefits them both. Anička climbs the social ladder, navigates complicated relationships, until she reaches the future Prime Minister Tomáš Vichr. A television series based on the book was also produced for TV Prima.
