A seemingly idyllic setting, a love plot, a calculated murder – and Miss Marple. Young pilot Jerry Burton is recovering in the countryside under the care of his sister Joanna after a serious injury. However, the siblings suddenly receive some rather disgusting anonymous letters. Soon, other residents of the town of Lymstock start receiving them too, and all are soon gripped by a strange psychosis that culminates in a suicide. And then comes a murder. The police investigation kicks off, and soon Miss Marple gets involved with her probing questions... and her unerring nose for crime and its perpetrators.
