Brian Murphy is enjoying a relaxing summer stay at Cape Cod with his family when his wife Emma begins to show severe flu symptoms. This leads to a frantic return home to New York, and after suffering a seizure in the car, Emma is left significantly disoriented and falls into a coma in the emergency room. At the hospital, she is diagnosed with Eastern Equine Encephalitis, or EEE, a rare and highly fatal viral disease transmitted by mosquitoes. Soon, their little daughter also shows troubling symptoms of the same illness. The situation becomes even more harrowing when Brian receives a staggering hospital bill, and worse, the insurance company refuses to cover the costs citing dubious clauses in Brian's policy. An angry Brian vows to seek justice...
