Anička not only has real friends, like little Mikša and Vašík, but also magical ones. Among them is the Sunday cat Zlatuška. This magical yellow cat lives in a little house that Anička drew one Sunday on a piece of paper. But from time to time, she disappears from the paper and sets off into the world. Now she advises Anička on how to play a magical song on the flute to delight her grandfather, who has a birthday. Suddenly, the book is filled with songs about kittens, fairy tales, mice that whistle on straws, and many other interesting things. The cheerful storytelling by Eduard Petiška, with charming illustrations by Helena Zmatlíková, is intended for reading aloud as well as for practicing first independent reading.
