DUEL: Hovory nejen o medicíně a showbyznysu – Měšťák Jan (2022)

The duel between two great friends, Jan Měšťák and Miloš Zapletal, is primarily an interesting dialogue about various life topics. These include childhood, work, love, health, and old age. They do not shy away from delicate subjects such as infidelity, marital separations, or sex. They often hold differing opinions, and there are times when a real duel ensues, bringing out the heaviest artillery. Their occasional arguments are both serious and comical. Miloš Zapletal recalls his work and equally dramatic personal life, which included breakups with women, three wives, the premature deaths of loved ones, a media ban, prosecution, and nearly imprisonment for inciting socialism. Jan Měšťák shares anecdotes from his profession as a plastic surgeon, including operations on women's breasts, which are viewed controversially by the public, as well as the challenges of surgeries for patients after injuries or cancer. For many years, he served as a professional judge in Zapletal's Miss, where they often clashed over opinions on female beauty. The text is accompanied by illustrations by Svatopluk Zapletal.
